In 2015, Rotary of District 5170 began taking Rotary, Interact, and Rotaract volunteers to Vietnam on service trips. Since then, we've expanded to include a variety of projects to help prevent human trafficking not just in Vietnam, but around the world.
With Pacific Links, we're able to connect English speaking volunteers with students in Vietnam to tutor them in English, life skills, and more! Because the tutoring program is virtual, we've been able to keep it going, even through the pandemic.

One of RVP's main events is our annual service trip, where we go to Vietnam to serve as camp counselors for a Pacific Links summer camp. Our summer camp features a variety of activities for Vietnamese girls, including lessons in English, self-defense, feminine hygiene, and more! We also give out overstock Rotary T-shirts; most of the attendees have very few clothes so they love to get these gifts.
Rotary International Conventions
We also take service trips to Rotary International Conventions where we meet thousands of Rotarians at our booth in the House of Friendship to raise awareness about human trafficking and the Rotary District 5170 Vietnam Project. Interact volunteers raise their own travel expenses separately from RVP project donations.
We've partnered with the Rotary Club of Colombo, Sri Lanka and the Rotary Club of Queenstown in Singapore to receive two Global Grants (#2010688 & #2011675) from The Rotary Foundation Global Grants to increase our impact and help sponsor more educational sponsorships for girls in Vietnam.
